After whom does Myrick Park take its name?


In honor of William Myrick, a German immigrant who settled in La Crosse around 1850, the area was named Myrick Park after him. To build a park for the community, Myrick gave this property to the city.

Its picturesque setting makes it as ideal for individuals who want to spend their time outdoors as it does for those who would instead relax indoors while taking in the breathtaking scenery.

Directions to Myrick Park

Take E Main St. east from La Crosse's downtown for 1.3 mi. Follow N 3rd St for over half a mile after turning left. Take a right onto Cass St. and walk for the next half mile. After traveling about 0.2 miles on S 3rd St., turn left onto S 2nd St. Take a right onto George St. and travel that way for nearly a half mile. After about 0.6 miles, turn left onto Losey Blvd. After going about 0.2 miles, turn right onto Myrick Park Dr. The Myrick Park Community Center will be on your right.
